EFS polyurethane shock absorber bush made from 80 Duro elastomer, measuring 35 x 38/33 x 16 mm. It serves as the upper mount for EFS Elite shocks 36-5427 and 36-5527, and for 36-5426 in older series. Less play and better damping than rubber, with resistance to oil, dirt, UV and moisture.

EFS shock absorber bush, 80 Duro polyurethane — 16 mm upper mount

The upper shock bush has the worst job in the whole suspension: it works through a tiny range of movement, but under full load and every impact the wheel takes. When it flattens out the play is small, yet you hear it over every bump and feel it through the wheel.

This bush replaces it with 80 Duro polyurethane — a material that deforms less under load than rubber and takes longer to lose its shape. EFS assigns it to shock absorbers from the Elite range: 36-5427 and 36-5527 as the upper mount, and 36-5426 in older series.

Material
80 Duro polyurethane
Dimensions
35 x 38/33 x 16 mm
Position
upper mount

Key benefits

  • 80 Duro polyurethane instead of rubber — less play and better vibration damping at the upper shock mount.
  • Tight fit on the pin — less clearance between bush and pin means fewer knocks and slower wear of the mount itself.
  • Resists oil, dirt, UV and moisture — exactly what surrounds this part in service.
  • Resists permanent deformation — polyurethane keeps its rebound properties longer than a rubber equivalent.
  • 16 mm bore and 35 mm length — a specific dimension you can check against the bush you removed.

This is for someone already running EFS suspension who is servicing it or refitting shocks. If you drive a Navara, D-Max, L200, Hilux or an older Land Cruiser on 36-5427 or 36-5527 shocks, this is the part you replace while everything is apart, so you do not come back to it next season.

Fitting and notes

The bush goes into the upper shock mount. Check your shock absorber part number before ordering — the application list is specific, and it, rather than the vehicle model alone, decides the fit. Shock mounts take bushes in pairs, so count the pieces for a full set. Not sure? Send us the shock number and our workshop will verify it before dispatch.

Why buy this

  • Polyurethane holds its dimensions longer than rubber, so the mount stays tight for longer.
  • A clear application list from the manufacturer instead of picking a bush by eye.
  • A small part that genuinely changes how the suspension sounds and works.

Replacing or servicing EFS Elite shocks? Add a set of upper bushes to the order — you have to strip the mount anyway.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which shock absorbers does this bush fit?

As the upper mount for EFS shocks 36-5427 and 36-5527, and for 36-5426 in older series.

What is the inner diameter?

16 mm. Full dimensions are 35 x 38/33 x 16 mm (length x diameter x inner bore).

Which vehicles does the application list cover?

Among others the Nissan Navara D21, D22, D40 and D23/NP300, Nissan Terrano, Mercedes X-Class 4-cyl., Renault Alaskan, Mitsubishi L200 and leaf-sprung Pajero, Isuzu D-Max, Trooper and Rodeo, Toyota Hilux, 4Runner and Land Cruiser series 40-62, Jeep Wrangler YJ, Great Wall V240, Holden Colorado, Opel Frontera A, Mazda Bravo, Ford Courier/Ranger 2WD, Fiat Fullback and UAZ 469.

Polyurethane or rubber?

This bush is polyurethane. The manufacturer states that 80 Duro polyurethane gives less play, better vibration damping and longer shock service life, and resists oil, dirt, UV and moisture.

How many pieces do I need?

Shock bushes normally work in pairs per mount — confirm the exact count when you remove the old ones.
