EFS polyurethane damping bush in 80 Duro elastomer, 40 x 30/25 x 19 mm with a 19 mm bore. It fits dampers 36-5426 and 36-5595 as both the lower and the upper bush, so a full rebuild needs one part number instead of two. It holds its shape longer than rubber and damps vibration better.

EFS Shock Absorber Bush, 80 Duro Polyurethane, 19 mm Bore

The cheapest way to make a freshly fitted damper behave the way it was designed to: do not leave tired, worked-out bushes in the eyes. This one is particularly convenient, because on dampers 36-5426 and 36-5595 it covers both ends.

EFS specifies 80 Duro polyurethane for its damper bushes instead of plain rubber. You do not feel the difference on day one — you feel it after a season. Rubber in a shock eye works itself loose under oil and heat; polyurethane keeps its dimensions and does not hand the damper play it never asked for.

Material
80 Duro polyurethane
Dimensions
40 x 30/25 x 19 mm
Dampers
36-5426 and 36-5595, top and bottom

Key benefits

  • 80 Duro polyurethane holds its dimensions far longer than rubber, so the shock eye does not start to wander after a few trips off road.
  • Less play between bush and pin means the damper works more precisely and the vehicle stays predictable.
  • Resistant to oil, grit, moisture and UV — it will not go soft from grease or crack in the sun.
  • Damps the vibration and noise the suspension would otherwise send into the body.
  • One part number covers both the upper and the lower mount on dampers 36-5426 and 36-5595, which keeps the rebuild parts list short.

  • Bore diameter: 19 mm
  • As the lower bush: dampers 36-5426 and 36-5595
  • As the upper bush: dampers 36-5426 and 36-5595
  • Fitted into the shock eye as a damping bush
  • Manufacturer: EFS 4x4
  • Part number: EB2178-19

Who it is for

For anyone servicing a suspension built around EFS dampers 36-5426 or 36-5595 — whether while lifting the vehicle or simply after a few hard seasons. Polyurethane earns its keep exactly where the suspension keeps meeting water, mud and grease.

Fitting notes

The bush presses into the shock eye and suits both ends of the listed dampers, so a rebuild does not need separate upper and lower part numbers. Work out the quantity for your job — one damper has two eyes and each axle carries two dampers.

Why it is worth it

  • One bush covers top and bottom on dampers 36-5426 and 36-5595.
  • 80 Duro polyurethane means less play and a longer working life than rubber.
  • Confirmed dimensions, so you know exactly what you are ordering.

Planning a suspension rebuild? Order the bushes with the dampers so you do not have to strip everything twice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which dampers does this bush fit?

Dampers 36-5426 and 36-5595, as either the lower or the upper bush.

What are the dimensions?

40 x 30/25 x 19 mm — length x diameter x bore. The bore is 19 mm.

Why polyurethane rather than rubber here?

80 Duro polyurethane keeps its rebound properties longer than rubber, controls play between bush and pin more tightly and resists oil, grit, moisture and UV. The result is less noise and vibration and a longer working life for the damper.

How is it different from bush EB2178-16?

In size and application: EB2178-16 measures 36 x 31/25 x 16 mm and suits dampers 36-3205 and 36-5426, while EB2178-19 measures 40 x 30/25 x 19 mm and suits 36-5426 and 36-5595.
