EFS polyurethane shock absorber bush, 19 x 38 x 14 mm, for pin-type mounts: upper on 36-5541, 36-5543 and 36-5546 shocks, lower on 36-5543 and 36-5546. The 80 Duro elastomer holds its shape longer than rubber and damps vibration better on the way into the body.

EFS Polyurethane Shock Absorber Bush, Upper and Lower 19 x 38 x 14 mm

A shock absorber is only as good as the mount holding it. Once the bush flattens out, the damper rocks in its eye instead of working along its axis — you hear it as a knock over kerbs and feel it as vaguer control on rough ground.

This bush deals with the cause: 80 Duro polyurethane rather than rubber, a 19 x 38 x 14 mm size, and the flexibility to sit either at the top or at the bottom depending on which EFS damper you are working on.

Material
80 Duro polyurethane
Dimensions
19 x 38 x 14 mm
Position
Upper and lower, pin mount

Key benefits

  • One bush covers two mounting positions, so servicing 36-5543 and 36-5546 shocks does not mean ordering two different part numbers.
  • 80 Duro polyurethane cuts the play between bush and pin, letting the damper work as designed.
  • Resists oil, abrasion, moisture and UV — the things that actually kill rubber under a vehicle.
  • Less vibration and noise carried from the suspension into the cabin.

Technical data

  • Type: polyurethane shock absorber bush, pin mount
  • Material: polyurethane, 80 Duro elastomer
  • Dimensions (length x outer diameter x inner bore): 19 x 38 x 14 mm
  • As an upper bush: EFS 36-5541, 36-5543, 36-5546
  • As a lower bush: EFS 36-5543, 36-5546
  • Manufacturer: EFS 4x4, Australia
  • Part number: PB740

It suits anyone fitting or servicing those EFS dampers — during a shock replacement, after a season in mud and sand, or when a knock has appeared at the back that nothing else explains.

Fitting notes

The bush slides onto the mounting pin. Check your damper's instructions for how many bushes each eye takes and replace them as a set — one new bush next to tired rubber will not give you the full effect. Our workshop can put the suspension together if you would rather have it done professionally.

Why it is worth it

  • A cheap part that stops a far more expensive damper from working with play in the mount.
  • Polyurethane lasts noticeably longer than rubber in off-road conditions.
  • A single part number covers both the upper and lower position on 36-5543 and 36-5546 shocks.

Order it with your shock absorbers — a few minutes' work with the suspension already apart buys you several quiet seasons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can it be fitted?

As an upper pin-type bush on 36-5541, 36-5543 and 36-5546 shocks, and as a lower pin-type bush on 36-5543 and 36-5546.

What size is it?

19 x 38 x 14 mm, given as length x outer diameter x inner bore.

What is it made from?

Polyurethane, an 80 Duro elastomer resistant to deformation, oil, abrasion and weather.

What does polyurethane give over rubber?

Less play on the pin, better damping of vibration and noise, and a longer life for the shock mount.

Is this a set or a single piece?

A single bush. Match the quantity to the number of shocks and mounts you are working on.
