It lifts the front by 50 mm and is rated for an extra 50-110 kg. Fits the Ford Ranger Next Gen RA and Everest Next Gen from 06.2022 and the VW Amarok from 2023.

EFS MRP 2.5 shock absorber, front right, 50 mm lift — Ford Ranger and Everest Next Gen, VW Amarok

A Next Gen looks solid on the forecourt, but a bar, a winch and a few hundred kilometres of corrugations are enough for the standard damping to lose the plot: the front floats, the wheels lose contact and the drive becomes tiring.

This EFS MRP 2.5 shock runs a monotube design with a finned remote canister, delivers 50 mm of lift and lets you set the damping by dial: 24 compression clicks, up to 36 rebound settings. It is rated for an extra 50-110 kg on the front axle.

Key benefits

  • 24 compression settings — a dial on the reservoir changes the damping character without removing anything from the car.
  • Up to 36 rebound settings — you decide how fast the wheel returns to the ground after a hit, which is how much grip you keep on gravel.
  • Heavily finned remote canister — the oil runs cooler, and cooler oil holds consistent damping far longer on a long corrugated stage.
  • Monotube layout allows a larger piston, which translates into extra control over suspension movement.
  • Zinc-plated seamless steel body and a solid aluminium top hat — built for salt, mud and years of service.
  • Fully serviceable: it can be stripped, rebuilt and re-gassed instead of being thrown away.
  • Rated for an additional 50-110 kg on the front axle — headroom for a bar, a winch and gear, not for an empty vehicle.
  • One part number covers the Ranger, Everest and Amarok Next Gen — handy if more than one of them lives in your garage.

Who it is for

For a Ranger, Everest or Amarok Next Gen that already carries accessories and regularly leaves the tarmac: gravel, forest tracks, loaded trips. The 50 mm of front lift restores clearance, and the 50-110 kg allowance means the damper is sized for a loaded truck, not a showroom one.

It is also a sensible answer if one vehicle has to do two jobs. Soft for daily driving, firmer for a trip — the change takes a moment and needs no disassembly.

Fitting and notes

  • This is a single unit for one side — a complete front end also needs the opposite piece (25-0009-L).
  • Register the shock with the manufacturer after purchase: scan the QR code from the instructions in the box and fill in the form. Without registration the extended warranty cannot be activated.
  • The extension runs through servicing: the first service before 2 years and 100,000 km adds 2 years and 50,000 km, a second one before the next 2 years and 50,000 km takes the total up to 6 years.
  • Set compression and rebound after fitting, to suit the load the vehicle actually carries — both dials stay accessible.
  • Any change of front ride height is a good reason to check the alignment; our workshop can do it together with the fitting.

Why choose it

  • A 2.5" monotube with a remote canister is built for long, hard work — exactly where the standard damper fades first.
  • 24/36-click adjustment and a finned remote canister are competition-grade hardware applied to a loaded daily 4x4.
  • Full serviceability plus a warranty of 2 years or 100,000 km, extendable up to 6 years — this is a component bought for years, not for one season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it fit the new-generation Amarok?

Yes. The manufacturer lists it for the Volkswagen Amarok from 2023 as well as the Ford Ranger Next Gen RA and Everest Next Gen from 06.2022.

How much does it lift the front?

50 mm, or 2 inches, with an additional front load of 50-110 kg.

Is one piece enough for the whole front axle?

No. This is the shock for the front, right-hand side — a complete front end needs it together with 25-0009-L.

What exactly is adjustable?

Compression in 24 settings and rebound in up to 36 settings, both by dial, without removing the shock from the vehicle.

What warranty comes with it and how is it extended?

The manufacturer covers 2 years or 100,000 km. Register the shock after purchase using the QR code and form supplied in the box. A service carried out before 2 years and 100,000 km adds another 2 years and 50,000 km, and a second service adds the same again, for up to 6 years in total.
