EFS MRP 2.5 Rear Shock Absorber, 50 mm Lift - Ford Ranger, F-150, Mazda BT-50

A leaf-sprung Ranger can be unpredictable at the back: it skips when empty and bottoms out in ruts when loaded. The culprit is usually not the leaf pack but a damper that cannot keep up.

The MRP 2.5 lifts the rear by 50 mm and lets you set compression and rebound damping separately, so one truck can be liveable with an empty tray and composed with a full one.

Application
Ford Ranger PX1, PX2 and PX3, Ford F-150, Mazda BT-50 4WD
Lift
2" / 50 mm
Design
Monotube with extra reservoir

Key benefits

  • 24 clicks of compression damping - one knob takes the suspension from road manners to off-road control, with nothing to dismantle.
  • 36 clicks of rebound damping - you decide how quickly the wheel returns to the ground, which is what a series of bumps really tests.
  • Additional reservoir with a heat sink - more oil and genuine cooling limit damping fade on long, fast gravel.
  • Monotube design allows a larger piston rod, which means steadier behaviour under load.
  • Fully strippable and serviceable - the damper is built to be rebuilt.

What is in the box

Who it is for

For Rangers, F-150s and BT-50s that carry gear, tow, or run gravel roads long enough to heat a standard damper. The adjustment lets you set the truck up for how it is actually used, instead of picking between firm and soft at the moment of purchase.

Fitting and tuning

Damping is set with two knobs: 24 clicks of compression and 36 clicks of rebound. Clockwise (H+) adds damping, counter-clockwise (S-) reduces it. The manufacturer gives starting points: 0-10 compression and 0-12 rebound clicks for road use, 10-20 and 12-22 off-road, 15-24 and 22-36 for extreme driving. Use them as a baseline - load and driving style will move them.

The damper is fully strippable and serviceable, so a hard season ends in a rebuild rather than a replacement. Our workshop can take care of the selection and the fitting.

Warranty and registration

The distributor states a 2-year or 100,000 km warranty that can be extended to 6 years in total. Register the damper with the manufacturer after purchase (QR code in the box), then carry out and report a service before 2 years / 100,000 km and a second one before the next 2 years / 50,000 km. Each reported service adds another 2 years and 50,000 km of cover.

Why it is worth it

  • Two independent adjustment ranges instead of one factory compromise.
  • A reservoir with a heat sink exactly where a standard damper starts to fade.
  • A serviceable design, so the damper can be kept in shape for years.
