Escape Alu-One – a 2-person tent in an aluminium shell that sets up in seconds.

Mounting

The tent can be fitted to any vehicle with two crossbars across the roof or a roof rack (platform). If the rack has a frame higher than its base, you may need an extra bar at frame level so the tent does not drop into the rack.

The mounting brackets are adjustable – they slide along the long side of the tent to match the spacing of your crossbars or roof rack

It is fixed to the crossbars with 8 bolts and 4 flat bars, forming 4 clamps – two per bar.

Minimum crossbar spacing is half the tent size – 100 cm for the Alu-One

Setting up

1. Undo the two latches on the tent edge
2. Push the lid up and let the gas struts do the rest
3. Fit the two poles that tension the awning over the entrance
4. Lean the ladder against the edge of the tent

Specifications

Frequently asked questions

Is the vestibule included?

No. The tent comes with a 2.3 m ladder and without a vestibule. A matching vestibule is sold separately – see the related accessories.

Can I get a longer ladder?

Yes. A 2.3 m ladder is included. For taller vehicles (e.g. a pickup with a canopy) a 2.6 m telescopic ladder is available in the related accessories.

What do I mount the tent on?

On two crossbars or a roof rack (platform). Minimum crossbar spacing is half the tent size – 100 cm for the Alu-One.
