A complete ICON Stage 2 suspension for the Ford Bronco with the factory HOSS 1.0 package. You get four 2.5 EXP Series shocks with internal reservoirs plus tubular upper control arms running the Delta Joint PRO. Ride height is set with snap rings across 1.375-3 inches at the front and 1.5-2.25 inches at the rear, reusing the stock coil springs. Installation is fully bolt-on.

ICON Stage 2 Ford Bronco HOSS 1.0 – 1.375-3'' Suspension System with Tubular Upper Arms (K40002T)

The factory HOSS 1.0 setup copes with a gravel road, but push the pace across washboard or fit taller tyres and it runs out of travel and cooling capacity fast. This system tackles both at once: four ICON 2.5 EXP Series shocks plus tubular upper control arms that put the front geometry back where it belongs once the nose is lifted.

Everything is built around ICON's proven 2.5 Aluminum Series platform, so instead of a spacer-based compromise you get genuine extra wheel travel and damping you can have re-valved later to suit how you actually drive.

FITMENT
Ford Bronco with HOSS 1.0 package (non-Sasquatch)
LIFT RANGE
1.375-3'' front, 1.5-2.25'' rear
INSTALLATION
100% bolt-on, no cutting or welding

Key benefits

  • The 2.5-inch aluminium bodies hold more oil and use a larger piston than the steel OE units, so heat leaves the damper faster and the tuning stays consistent instead of fading after a few fast kilometres.
  • Snap-ring grooves machined into the shock body let you dial in 1.375-3 inches of front lift and 1.5-2.25 inches at the rear – you choose the stance that suits your tyre size and load rather than accepting one fixed height.
  • Factory coil springs and coil hardware are reused, so your money goes into damping and geometry rather than parts the Bronco already carries.
  • A 7/8-inch induction hardened, chrome plated shaft and a one-piece hard-anodised aluminium body give the system real resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
  • The one-piece digressive piston is tuned specifically for the Bronco and its stock springs: firm control over big hits, settled behaviour over small chop.
  • PTFE-lined spherical bearings keep deflection low and extend service life at the mounting points.
  • Tubular upper control arms restore caster, which drifts out of range as soon as the front end goes up – without that correction the truck loses straight-line stability and steering self-centring.
  • The patented Delta Joint PRO (U.S. Pat. 10,731,700) offers up to 90 degrees of total articulation, so the arm never becomes the limiting factor when the axle works at full flex.
  • Shocks are fully rebuildable and re-valvable with service parts available from ICON, which makes this a long-term investment rather than a wear item.

What is in the box

This is the system for you if your Bronco left the factory without the Sasquatch package and you want to solve three things in one go: clearance for larger tyres, serious damping on fast gravel, and front geometry that still behaves after the lift. It suits owners who use their truck off-road regularly and load it with gear, not those chasing stance alone.

Installation notes

  • Installation is fully bolt-on with no cutting or welding required.
  • ICON lists recalibration of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as required after installation.
  • Quoted lift figures apply to a stock-weight vehicle; added front-end mass such as a steel bumper or winch will reduce the height achieved.
  • Recommended tyre size is 35x12.50 inches, and ICON advises running its high clearance crash bars, part number 42000, at that size. A 37-inch tyre package needs front bump stop spacers, part number 611082, plus trimming and modification of the wheel arches.
  • Recommended ICON Alloys wheels: 17x8.5'' with 5.75'' backspace (25 mm offset) or 18x9'' with 6.00'' backspace (25 mm offset).
  • Two-door Broncos sit taller than four-door versions after installation – that is normal and comes down to the weight difference.
  • The kit does not fit the Bronco Raptor or vehicles with the HOSS 2.0 suspension package.
  • Book a wheel alignment after any change in ride height.

Why it is worth it

  • One manufacturer, one coherent tune – no mixing shocks, arms and springs from different shelves and hoping they agree.
  • The shocks can be rebuilt and re-valved, so the system keeps pace with how your build evolves.
  • Tubular arms with the Delta Joint PRO look after caster and articulation, the two things that decide how the truck behaves immediately after a lift.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know my Bronco has the HOSS 1.0 package?

HOSS 1.0 is Ford's base suspension, fitted to Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Black Diamond trims without the Sasquatch package. The quickest check is the OE shock bodies: HOSS 1.0 uses black ones, while HOSS 2.0 trucks have yellow shocks and need a different kit.

Do I need to buy springs as well?

No. The system is designed around the Bronco's factory coil springs, their hardware and the OE upper shock and spring mounts.

Does installation require cutting or welding?

No, the kit is 100% bolt-on. ICON does note that the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems need recalibration afterwards, and any ride height change should be followed by a wheel alignment.

What tyre size can I run?

ICON recommends 35x12.50 inch tyres and advises fitting its high clearance crash bars, part number 42000, at that size. Going to 37-inch tyres calls for front bump stop spacers, part number 611082, plus trimming and modification of the wheel arches.

Can the shocks be serviced later?

Yes. The 2.5 EXP Series shocks are fully rebuildable and re-valvable by a qualified shock technician, and ICON supplies the service parts.

Will it fit a Bronco Raptor?

No. ICON explicitly excludes the Bronco Raptor. This system is only for vehicles with the factory HOSS 1.0 suspension package.
