A compact 140 cm roof tent with a sliding Sky Roof panel and a PVC window. The body is 600D Oxford polyester, 260 g, rated PU2000 mm+, and the set includes a 60 mm mattress and a 2.4 m telescopic ladder. Packed size is 140 x 120 x 28 cm, so it leaves room on the roof.

Overlander Adventure 3.0 Roof Tent 140 cm with Sky Roof

Pitching a tent after dark, hunting for a flat patch of ground and waking up in a damp sleeping bag – three reasons more and more people move their tent onto the roof of the vehicle. You stop, unfold, and the bed is ready, well above the ground.

The 140 cm Adventure 3.0 is the most compact tent in this Sky Roof family: folded it measures 120 cm deep and 28 cm high, so it does not swallow the whole roof and leaves room for a rack or rails.

Key benefits

  • Sky Roof with a PVC window – the window is built into the roof, so you get daylight inside and a view of the sky at night without opening the tent.
  • 600D Oxford shell, 260 g, rated PU2000 mm+ – tear-resistant fabric with a waterproof rating that handles real rain, not just drizzle.
  • 420D outer layer with anti-UV 50+ coating – slows down fabric ageing on long trips under strong sun.
  • 60 mm high-density foam mattress with a removable cotton cover – the bed is already made, and the cover comes off for washing.
  • Side windows with insect mesh – ventilate the interior without letting bugs in.
  • SBS zips – large sliders that cope with daily opening and packing down.
  • Aluminium floor structure with reinforcements – a rigid base at contained weight.
  • Side or rear deployment – you place the entrance wherever the camp site allows.

Who it is for. For a solo traveller or a couple packing light, for anyone running a smaller 4x4 who does not want the whole roof built up, and for people who change camp every night. The 240 cm deployed depth keeps the tent close to the outline of the vehicle, which helps when parking in woodland or on a tight campsite.

Fitting notes

The tent unfolds from the roof of the vehicle and you climb in on the supplied telescopic ladder. Before ordering, check the static and dynamic roof load your roof rack and vehicle roof are rated for – at 53 kg that is the first thing to confirm, and the tent maker does not prescribe one mounting solution. It is also worth comparing the packed size (140 x 120 x 28 cm) with the spacing of your roof bars.

If you want to be sure your rack and roof will carry this setup, get in touch – Szekla4x4 also runs a workshop that builds overland vehicles day in, day out.

Why it is worth it

  • Materials described in numbers, not slogans: 600D, 260 g, PU2000 mm+, 420D, anti-UV 50+, 550 g PVC.
  • Mattress and ladder included – once the tent is open, the bed is ready.
  • The Sky Roof and the mesh windows turn a night out into more than just shelter from the rain.

If a season of sleeping on the road is on the cards, this 140 cm wide version lets you sleep high, dry and without pitching camp on the ground.
