A plastic shell is fine until you start driving gravel tracks under low branches and parking under trees at every stop. Armor Top uses an aluminium shell — impact-resistant and stiff, which matters when the tent lives on your roof for a whole season.
It is a 2-3 person tent with a 70 mm mattress and a rip-stop poly-cotton canopy rated to 5000 mm. Folded, it stands only 20 cm tall, giving a low, compact profile on the roof.
