A yellow polyurethane bushing set covering every leaf spring mounting point on a Suzuki Samurai: 4 large chassis-side bushings, 8 small shackle-side bushings and 4 metal sleeves. Worn bushings mean axle play, knocking and rut wander – this set deals with all of it in one go.

Polyurethane Leaf Spring Bushing Set for Suzuki Samurai – Yellow

The spring bushing is the cheapest item in a Samurai's suspension and, at the same time, the one that decides whether the axle stays where it belongs. Once the rubber inside is worn, the leaf spring works with play: the car answers the wheel a beat late, the rear follows its own line through ruts, and every speed bump brings a knock from behind. New springs will not cure any of that, because the fault sits in the mounting points.

This set covers every leaf spring bushing on the vehicle and swaps rubber for polyurethane – a material that does not squash out under load as quickly and copes far better with water and grease. Supplied in yellow, if you prefer that look underneath or simply want to tell the set apart from the red version.

FITMENT
Suzuki Samurai
MATERIAL
Polyurethane, yellow
CONTENTS
12 bushings + 4 metal sleeves

Key benefits

  • Every leaf spring mounting point in one order: 4 large bushings on the chassis side and 8 small ones at the shackles.
  • Four metal sleeves for the large bushings are supplied, so the set is ready to fit without salvaging old parts.
  • Polyurethane limits fore-and-aft axle movement, so the car answers the steering predictably and settles faster in ruts.
  • Resistance to water and grease matters on a Samurai – the underside of this car is rarely dry.
  • The yellow colour makes the bushings easy to inspect at a glance during later underbody checks.

Who it is for – for a well-used Samurai whose bushings have never been changed, and for a car being prepared for a lift. It is also worth doing before a long trip, when you want to be sure nothing starts knocking halfway through the route.

Installation notes

The job is easiest with the springs off the car. Old rubber usually has to be pressed out, and shackle bolts can be badly corroded – have penetrating fluid and spare fasteners ready. The Szekla4x4 workshop carries out this work together with a full suspension inspection.

Why it is worth it

  • A measurable improvement in handling for very little money.
  • One set deals with all the spring mounting points at once.
  • A sensible addition to new springs or a lift kit, when the suspension is already apart.

If you hear knocking from the springs, start with the bushings – it is the most common and the cheapest cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many bushings are in the set?

Twelve: 4 large on the chassis side and 8 small at the shackles, plus 4 metal sleeves for the large ones.

Does one set cover both axles?

Yes, it covers every leaf spring mounting point on the vehicle.

Which model does it fit?

Suzuki Samurai – the model stated in the specification table for this part number.

Can the bushings be changed without removing the springs?

In practice it is far easier with the springs off – the old bushings have to be pressed out and shackle bolts are often seized.
