Raptor 4x4 Rear Shock Absorber +2" Suzuki Samurai
Raptor 4x4 rear damper designed for a Suzuki Samurai running a 2" (5 cm) lift. Twin-tube construction, 16 mm piston rod, 50 mm body and a 315/480 mm working length, giving the stroke a raised body actually needs.
Raptor 4x4 Rear Shock Absorber +2" Suzuki Samurai
Lifting the rear of a Samurai without changing the dampers is half a job. The raised body eats the whole extension reserve, and at full droop the shock becomes the limiting component – with all the load going straight into the rod and its mounts.
This unit is dimensioned for a 5 cm lift: 315 mm collapsed, 480 mm extended. That lets the leaf spring use its full travel and keeps the rear wheel loaded where a standard-length damper would already have topped out.
Fitment Suzuki Samurai, rear axle | Designed for +2" / 5 cm lift | Length 315 / 480 mm |
Key benefits
- Extension matched to a 2" lift – the damper stops being the part that limits rear axle travel.
- Twin-tube build – a layout that copes well with what a light 4x4 rear axle goes through: mud, rocks and constant load changes.
- 16 mm rod, 50 mm body – clearly stated dimensions let you check the fit before ordering.
- Pairs with the front unit – used with RAP-061511 it gives a consistent setup on both axles.

Who it is for
For anyone fitting 5 cm lift springs to a Samurai who wants the suspension to actually benefit from them. It is equally relevant when the lift is already done but the rear still runs the original dampers – those are usually what causes the harsh bottoming and the skittish rear end over washboard.
Fitting notes
Check the real lift height before ordering: 315/480 mm is calculated for +5 cm and will be too short on a noticeably taller build. During fitting, pay attention to the mounting bushes and thread condition – corrosion on a Samurai rear axle can be advanced.
Why choose it
- A stated working length rather than a generic "for lifted vehicles".
- Fully matched to the +2" front damper from the same range.
- The rest of the Raptor 4x4 Samurai suspension is available alongside it.
The front unit for the same lift is RAP-061511.
