A hard bottom-out can do more damage than an entire rock section. This Raptor 4x4 hydraulic bump stop with 4" of stroke decelerates the last part of the travel instead of letting the suspension slam into a solid stop. Nitrogen pressure lets you tune it to your setup.

Raptor 4x4 4" Universal Hydraulic Bump Stop

Suspension rarely breaks because of the travel itself — it breaks because of what happens at the end of it. When a wheel takes full compression over a whoop, the rubber stop takes a hit you feel through the whole car and see later on the mounts.

A hydraulic bump stop with 4" of stroke behaves differently to rubber: it slows the movement progressively, spreading the energy over four inches. Raptor 4x4 sets it with nitrogen pressure, so you can match the firmness to vehicle mass and pace instead of accepting one fixed curve.

Key benefits

  • 4" of stroke — four inches of controlled deceleration instead of a hard collision.
  • Nitrogen adjustment — tune the characteristic to the vehicle: a heavy expedition build needs a different setting to a light short-wheelbase rig.
  • Less strain on the suspension — bottoming energy does not go entirely into the damper and its mounting points.
  • Universal design — not tied to a single model, so it fits custom suspension projects.
  • Built for hard use — the manufacturer aims this part at extreme off-road, not light tuning.

Technical data

  • Manufacturer part number: 99151
  • Manufacturer: Raptor 4x4 (Saglietti S.r.l., Italy)
  • Type: hydraulic end-of-travel bump stop
  • Stroke: 4"
  • Adjustment: nitrogen pressure
  • Application: universal
  • Weight: 2 kg

Who it is for. Vehicles driven quickly over rough ground: desert-style events, rutted and rocky tracks, lifted rigs with long travel. Anywhere the driver regularly reaches full compression and wants something able to stop it properly.

Fitting notes

This is not a bolt-into-existing-holes part. The product data indicates that fitting may require welding and adapting the mounting point, and the bump stop is held by the RAP-99152 band mount, sold separately. Position it so it engages exactly at the end of travel and clears the rest of the suspension.

Why it is worth it

  • Controlled energy absorption instead of a hard hit on a solid stop.
  • Tunable by pressure rather than a single fixed rate.
  • Universal build that fits bespoke suspension work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a hydraulic bump stop do?

It absorbs energy at the end of suspension travel and dissipates it progressively instead of allowing a hard slam. That takes load off the dampers, mounts and body when you drive fast over rough ground.

Can it be adjusted?

Yes. The manufacturer states it is set by nitrogen pressure, so the characteristic can be matched to vehicle mass and driving style.

Is the mount included?

No. Fitting requires the separate RAP-99152 band mount, sold on its own.

Does installation require welding?

Yes, the product data indicates the installation may require welding and modification at the mounting point.

Which vehicles does it fit?

It is a universal component — not tied to one model, but it does require a mounting point designed and built into your specific suspension.
