APEX PTI Precision Tire Inflator 0-40 PSI with Push-On Chuck
The APEX PTI inflator in the 0-40 PSI version, optimised for low off-road pressures and load range C and D tyres. Inflation and reading in one tool, accurate to +/- 0.5 PSI with 0.05 PSI repeatability and an ON/OFF slider. A high flow push-on chuck, a billet aluminium snap mount and a 1/4 NPT swivel fitting are included.
APEX PTI Precision Tire Inflator 0-40 PSI with Push-On Chuck
After a trail only one thing matters: getting back to road pressure quickly and to the same figure on every wheel.
The 0-40 PSI PTI is built for that: it inflates and measures at the same time, and the push-on chuck goes onto the valve in one movement.
RANGE 0-40 PSI | ACCURACY +/- 0.5 PSI | INCLUDED High flow push-on chuck |
Key benefits
- inflation and pressure reading in one tool - no swapping a gauge on and off
- accuracy of +/- 0.5 PSI and 0.05 PSI repeatability - all four tyres end up the same
- a clear ON/OFF slider: press to inflate, release to check the pressure
- a liquid filled gauge with phosphorescent numbers - it works on a rough track and after dark
- a 1/4 NPT swivel fitting connects it to any 1/4 NPT quick coupler
- a high flow push-on chuck is included - on and off the valve in one movement
What is in the box
- APEX PTI inflator, 0-40 PSI
- high flow push-on chuck
- billet aluminium snap mount
- 1/4 NPT swivel fitting
- hose (can be shortened or replaced with a longer one)

Technical data
- Manufacturer part number: X02-08-140
- Range: 0-40 PSI - optimised for low off-road pressures
- Accuracy: +/- 0.5 PSI
- Repeatability: 0.05 PSI
- Operating temperature: -30F to 175F (about -34C to 79C)
- Filling: liquid filled - resistant to the shock and vibration of off-road use
- Construction: stainless steel and hard anodised 6061-T6 aluminium
- Readability: phosphorescent numbers and needles - they glow in the dark
- Maximum inlet pressure: 150 PSI — the manufacturer prints it on the gauge face. A typical shop compressor delivers more, so it is a real limit
- Vent: equalises case pressure with ambient and improves accuracy. It does not deflate tyres, and the manufacturer notes the vent cap has to be unscrewed and the spacer removed from under it first. The spacer can be put back to avoid accidental venting, which may leak oil
- Operation: ON/OFF slider
- Connection: 1/4 NPT swivel fitting
- Swivel joint: for APEX 3/8" nylon braided hose
- Recommended tyres: load range C and D
- Higher version: 0-90 PSI for towing and trailers, load range D and E - part X02-08-190
Who it is for
For off-road drivers on load range C and D tyres who return to road pressure after a trail and want the same figure on all four wheels. For a trailer and tow vehicle the manufacturer offers the 0-90 PSI version.
Installation and notes
The hose can be shortened or replaced with a longer one, sold separately. Connection to the air source is through the 1/4 NPT swivel fitting, which suits any quick coupler with that thread. The billet aluminium snap mount is included.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between 0-40 and 0-90 PSI?
0-40 PSI is optimised for low off-road pressures and load range C and D tyres. 0-90 PSI is accurate above 40 PSI and intended for a tow vehicle and trailer with load range D and E tyres.
Is a chuck included?
Yes. The manufacturer supplies the PTI with a high flow push-on chuck.
Does the inflator have a mount?
Yes, a billet aluminium snap mount. Note that the separate PPG Snap Mount is not compatible with the PTI.
Does the PTI deflate as well?
Yes, and the manufacturer describes it as a separate procedure: disconnect the air source, connect the chuck, slide the sleeve down to deflate and up to stop and read the pressure. With APEX RPV valves the procedure is different.
What do I need to connect the PTI to a compressor?
The 1/4 NPT swivel fitting is included, but the female 1/4 NPT quick connect is customer supplied — the manufacturer shows a standard quick connect in the drawing and has you seal the thread with Teflon tape.
Why it is worth it
- inflation and measurement in one tool, with a push-on chuck included
- a repeatable pressure on every wheel after every trail
