An automatic gearbox makes a Sprinter 4x4 easier to live with on the road, but it also asks for a carefully thought-out winch plate — and that is exactly how this one was designed for the 2018-2021 W907 VS30. The plate mounts behind the factory bumper and does not interfere with the automatic transmission cooler lines, which stay in their original routing.

It is built as one welded assembly with no bolted-together parts, hence the high rigidity and low weight. It bolts to the chassis rails; fitting requires eight holes drilled from below in the ends of the rails and the gearbox oil cooler raised slightly, as it fouls the housing of a larger winch. The material is 6 mm structural steel, shot-blasted and powder coated in a two-layer textured finish, with a cut-out under the drum that makes clearing dirt off the rope easier.
