The Grand Vitara is lighter than a classic body-on-frame off-roader, but mud swallows it just as happily — and that is when a winch decides whether the day ends as an adventure or a call for a tractor. This mounting plate, developed for the petrol versions of the facelifted Grand Vitara II, lets you fit a winch rated up to 12500 lbs behind the front bumper.

The plate takes the place of the front bumper beam and bolts to the vehicle's frame rails; installation calls for drilling four holes in the sides of the rails. It is made from 6 mm structural steel sheet, shot-blasted and finished with a two-layer textured powder coat. A cut-out under the winch drum makes it easier to clear dirt off the rope.
