Escape Vario – a top-quality hard-shell tent.

The 210 cm size sleeps 4–5 people comfortably and fits on vehicles of various sizes.

• Walls made of top-quality breathable, impregnated 280 g/m² cotton reinforced with polyester ripstop

Mounting

The tent can be fitted to any vehicle with two crossbars across the roof or a roof rack (platform). If the rack has a frame higher than its base, you may need an extra bar at frame level so the tent does not drop into the rack.

The mounting brackets are adjustable – they slide along the long side of the tent to match the spacing of your crossbars or roof rack

It is fixed to the crossbars with 8 bolts and 4 flat bars, forming 4 clamps – two per bar.

The Vario opens towards the passenger side.

Setting up

1. Loosen the three buckle straps on the tent edge
2. Push the cover up slightly and let the gas struts lift it all the way
3. Fully extend the ladder
4. Use the ladder as a lever to open the tent floor and support it with the ladder
5. Fit the poles supporting the window awnings and rainfly

Frequently asked questions

Is the vestibule included?

No. The tent comes with a 2.3 m ladder and without a vestibule. A matching vestibule is sold separately – see the related accessories.

Can I get a longer ladder?

Yes. A 2.3 m ladder is included. For taller vehicles (e.g. a pickup with a canopy) a 2.6 m telescopic ladder is available in the related accessories.

What do I mount the tent on?

On two crossbars or a roof rack (platform). Minimum crossbar spacing is half the tent size – 80 cm for the 160, 105 cm for the 210.
