Coil springs
MetalCloak True Dual Rate Coils 2.5in, Front Pair, Ineos Grenadier
A pair of MetalCloak True Dual Rate front coil springs for the Ineos Grenadier, giving 2.5 inches of lift. The dual rate design combines the ride of an empty truck with the load capacity of a loaded one, and one of the longest free lengths available keeps the spring seated even at full droop. Chrome silicon steel, black powder coat.
MetalCloak True Dual Rate Front Coils, 2.5in, Ineos Grenadier, Pair
A single-rate coil spring is always a compromise: soft enough for comfort and the truck sags under load, stiff enough to carry weight and it hammers over every ridge. True Dual Rate takes a different route — one spring working across two rates, soft over small suspension movements and progressively firmer as the load builds.
This is a pair of front coils built specifically for the Ineos Grenadier, giving 2.5 inches of lift. They are made from high tensile chrome silicon steel and have one of the longest free lengths on the market, so the spring stays seated in its bucket even at full droop.

Key benefits
- Two rates in one spring – small movements stay soft and comfortable, larger compression firms up. You get the ride of an empty truck and the control of a loaded one without swapping springs.
- Very long free length (21in) – the spring stays in its bucket even at full droop, so at extreme articulation the axle keeps working instead of losing contact with the spring.
- High tensile chrome silicon steel – resists sagging, which means ride height that does not creep down after a couple of seasons.
- Coil bow correction – the design limits the tendency of a lifted coil to buckle sideways, which translates into more stable handling.
- Black powder coat – factory corrosion protection.
How the "virtual bucket" works on True Dual Rate coils

Effectively lowering the spring seat reduces the risk of buckling and gives a more stable ride.

Who it is for
For Grenadiers where the lift is meant to do more than raise the body. Dual rate springs earn their keep on a truck that runs empty around town one week and fully loaded into the backcountry the next. They also pay off where articulation matters: at large body angles the spring stays seated, so the axle keeps working predictably.

Installation notes
MetalCloak rates the install as easy and quotes 1–2 hours with no body modification. An alignment by a suspension specialist is recommended once a MetalCloak suspension is installed.
Two things worth knowing: True Dual Rate coils are engineered to perform best with Duroflex control arms, and MetalCloak advises against powder coating these springs — the baking process can alter the metallurgical properties of the steel and cost the coil its lift characteristics, which voids the warranty on the coils.
If you want to be sure the pair matches the rest of your suspension, get in touch. Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised MetalCloak dealer and our workshop builds these setups regularly.
Why it is worth it
- One spring instead of a compromise between comfort and load capacity.
- An unusually long free length that genuinely translates into axle articulation.
- Material and design aimed at holding ride height season after season.

Frequently asked questions
How do True Dual Rate coils differ from ordinary lift springs?
They work across two rates: soft over small movements, keeping a ride close to stock, and firmer as load increases. A single-rate spring forces you to choose between comfort and load capacity.
Does the kit include rear springs as well?
No. This is a pair of front axle springs.
Can I powder coat the springs in a different colour?
MetalCloak advises against it. The baking process can change the metallurgical properties of the steel and cost the coil its lift characteristics, and powder coating voids the warranty on the coils.
Is an alignment needed after installation?
Yes. MetalCloak recommends having a suspension specialist align the vehicle once its suspension is installed.
What do these coils work best with?
MetalCloak states they are engineered to perform best with Duroflex control arms.
