Shocks
MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK Rear Shocks 3.5/4.5in, Wrangler JK, Pair
A pair of MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK rear shocks for the Jeep Wrangler JK with a 3.5in lift (MetalCloak also uses them on 4.5in mid-arm kits). The patented floating body fits 12 inches of stroke into 13¼ inches collapsed, and dual opposing nitrogen reservoirs keep the damping from fading. Bar pin eliminators and lower mounts included.
MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK Rear Shocks for the Jeep Wrangler JK, 3.5/4.5in Lift, Pair
The rear axle on a JK has less room for a shock than the front, yet it works hardest with the vehicle loaded and on long descents. A conventional design forces a compromise there: either a short shock with little stroke, or a longer one that starts fouling the body.
The 6Pak sidesteps that structurally. Instead of one tube it works across six, in a floating body carrying two parallel shafts, which fits 12 inches of stroke into a collapsed length of 13¼ inches. The kit also includes the upper bar pin eliminators and lower mounts — without them the shock cannot be fitted properly.

Important when ordering: exhaust version
The lower shock bracket comes in two versions — one for the stock exhaust and one for an aftermarket exhaust. Tell us which you run when you order and we will supply the matching variant. The difference is only in the bracket shape, not in the shocks themselves.
Key benefits
- 12 inches of stroke at 13¼ inches collapsed – the patented floating body gives the rear axle travel there is normally no room for. Extended length is 25¼ inches.
- Dual opposing nitrogen charged reservoirs – added cooling capacity. On a long descent or broken gravel the damping does not fade with the temperature.
- 5/8in titanium nitride coated shaft – heavier than typical, with a slick low-friction surface that spares the seals.
- Billet rod ends, fully rebuildable – the shock is designed to be serviced rather than discarded.
- Upgraded main seal material – the usual failure point for shocks working in mud and salt.
- Complete mounting hardware included – upper bar pin eliminators in A36 steel and lower brackets in 3/16in plate with a gold zinc finish, plus spacers.

Important note on the manufacturer's warranty
MetalCloak states on this product page that 6Pak shocks are not shipped outside North America, and that ordering them from outside the USA or Canada waives the rights to lifetime customer service and the manufacturer's warranty. We state it plainly because it applies to every unit bought in Europe. Warranty and complaint handling for purchases made in our shop are governed by the Szekla4x4.pl terms and conditions — contact us before ordering if this matters to you.
Who they are for
For JKs with a 3.5in lift and for 4.5in mid-arm kits. The rear benefits most on a vehicle that travels loaded — with a rack, a roof tent or full expedition kit. That is when the rear shocks work hardest and heat resistance stops being a catalogue figure. They pair naturally with the front version, 7130F, for a complete set.
Installation notes
MetalCloak rates the install as easy and quotes about an hour, with no body modification. The kit contains every mount needed, including the bar pin eliminators at the top — the part most easily forgotten when buying shocks alone.
An alignment by a suspension specialist is recommended after any suspension change. The shocks are rebuildable and MetalCloak handles the service.
You can leave the fitting and the choice of bracket version to us — Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised MetalCloak dealer with a workshop specialising in off-road suspension.
Why they are worth it
- Stroke there is normally nowhere to fit on a JK rear axle.
- Twin reservoirs and a heavy shaft — figures you only notice under load, an hour into the drive.
- Every mount in the box, so the install does not stall on a missing part.

Frequently asked questions
What lift are these shocks for?
A 3.5in lift on the rear axle. MetalCloak also uses this same version on 4.5in mid-arm kits.
Why the question about the exhaust?
The lower shock bracket comes in a stock exhaust version and an aftermarket exhaust version. Tell us which you run and we will supply the matching one. The shocks themselves are identical.
Are the mounts included?
Yes. The kit includes the upper bar pin eliminators in A36 steel, the lower brackets in 3/16in gold zinc plate, spacers and all required hardware.
How much stroke is there?
12 inches, at a collapsed length of 13¼ inches and an extended length of 25¼ inches, measured eye to eye.
Can the shocks be rebuilt?
Yes. The rod ends are precision machined billet and fully rebuildable, and MetalCloak runs the rebuild service.
Does the install require body modification?
No. MetalCloak rates it as easy, quotes about an hour and lists no modifications.
