MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK Front Shocks 5.5in Lift, Wrangler JK, Pair
A pair of MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK front shocks for the Jeep Wrangler JK with a 5.5in lift; MetalCloak also uses this version on 4.5in kits with long arms. The patented floating body gives 14 inches of stroke at 14¼ inches collapsed, and dual opposing nitrogen reservoirs hold the damping over long, fast sections. Upper mounts and spacers included.
MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK Front Shocks for the Jeep Wrangler JK, 5.5in Lift, Pair
Once a JK gets long arms and 5.5 inches of lift, the front axle starts working in a range where a factory shock has nothing left to give. The suspension is capable of more, but the shock sets the limit — travel runs out and the wheel leaves the ground earlier than it needs to.
This 6Pak version is built for exactly that kind of setup. MetalCloak states it uses the same shocks on 4.5in and 5.5in kits running long arms. The patented floating body fits 14 inches of stroke into a collapsed length of 14¼ inches — a ratio a conventional monotube cannot reach.

Which version to choose
MetalCloak splits the front 6Pak BLACK shocks for the JK by suspension configuration, not by lift height alone:
- This version (7432F) – for 5.5in kits, and according to MetalCloak also for 4.5in kits running long arms.
- Version 7130F – for a 3.5in lift and for 4.5in mid-arm kits.
If your vehicle already runs long arms, or you are planning that conversion, this is the right choice. Not sure? Send us your lift height and arm type and we will work it out.
Key benefits
- 14 inches of stroke in 14¼ inches collapsed – a patented six-tube floating body with two parallel shafts. Extended length is 28¼ inches.
- Dual opposing nitrogen charged reservoirs – added cooling capacity. With long travel and a fast pace the shock works harder and the oil heats quicker; that is exactly where the reservoirs earn their place.
- 5/8in shaft – heavier than typical, resisting bending at the extremes of travel a long-arm suspension delivers.
- Titanium nitride coated shafts – low friction, less wear, longer seal life.
- Billet rod ends, fully rebuildable – at this level a shock should be serviced, not thrown away.
- Upgraded main seal material – the usual failure point in mud and salt.
- Upper mounts and spacers included – 3/16in plate in gold zinc, fitting the factory locations.

Important note on the manufacturer's warranty
MetalCloak states on this product page that 6Pak shocks are not shipped outside North America, and that ordering them from outside the USA or Canada waives the rights to lifetime customer service and the manufacturer's warranty. We state it plainly because it applies to every unit bought in Europe. Warranty and complaint handling for purchases made in our shop are governed by the Szekla4x4.pl terms and conditions — contact us before ordering if this matters to you.
Who they are for
For JKs on a tall lift, particularly after a long arm conversion. That setup gives the axles a range of movement they did not have before — and only then does it become clear how much an ordinary shock was taking away. This is a choice for rock work, where every centimetre of articulation counts, and for long stretches of broken gravel, where heat resistance decides. With the rear version they make a coherent set for both axles.
Installation notes
MetalCloak rates the install as easy and quotes about an hour — the upper brackets fit the factory locations with no body modification. An alignment by a suspension specialist is recommended after any suspension change.
The shocks are rebuildable and MetalCloak handles the service. You can leave the fitting and the choice of version to us — Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised MetalCloak dealer with a workshop specialising in off-road suspension.
Why they are worth it
- With long arms and a tall lift, the shock decides how much of that suspension you actually use.
- Twin reservoirs and a heavy shaft show themselves an hour into the drive, not in the car park.
- A rebuildable design — a part for years rather than a season.

Frequently asked questions
How does this version differ from the 7130F?
In what it is meant for. This one is specified for a 5.5in lift and, according to MetalCloak, also for 4.5in kits with long arms. The 7130F covers a 3.5in lift and 4.5in mid-arm kits.
Are the brackets included?
Yes. The kit includes the upper front shock mounts in 3/16in gold zinc steel, the lower spacers and all required hardware.
How much stroke is there?
14 inches, at a collapsed length of 14¼ inches and an extended length of 28¼ inches, measured eye to eye.
Does the install require body modification?
No. The brackets fit the factory locations; MetalCloak rates the install as easy at around one hour.
Can the shocks be rebuilt?
Yes. The rod ends are precision machined billet and fully rebuildable, and MetalCloak runs the rebuild service.
