Shocks
MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK Rear Shocks 5.5in Lift, Wrangler JK, Pair
A pair of MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK rear shocks for the Jeep Wrangler JK with a 5.5in lift. The patented floating body gives 14 inches of stroke at 14¼ inches collapsed — two inches more than the lower-lift version. Dual opposing nitrogen reservoirs hold the damping under load and over long sections. Bar pin eliminators and lower mounts included.
MetalCloak 6Pak BLACK Rear Shocks for the Jeep Wrangler JK, 5.5in Lift, Pair
At 5.5 inches of lift the rear axle of a JK gains a range of movement it did not have before — and that is when a shorter shock turns out to be taking a good deal of it away. Travel runs out before the axle does, and the wheel leaves the ground earlier than it needs to.
This version gives the rear 14 inches of stroke at a collapsed length of 14¼ inches — two inches more than the version for lower lifts. Same patented six-tube floating body, matched to a taller suspension. Bar pin eliminators and lower mounts are included.

Which version to choose
The rear 6Pak BLACK shocks for the JK come in two lengths:
- This version (7432R) – for a 5.5in lift. 14in stroke, 28¼in extended.
- Version 7130R – for a 3.5in lift and 4.5in mid-arm kits. 12in stroke, 25¼in extended.
Running a 4.5in lift? Then the arm type decides — send us your configuration and we will pick the right length. The matching front unit for this version is the 7432F.
Important when ordering: exhaust version
The lower shock bracket comes in two versions — one for the stock exhaust and one for an aftermarket exhaust. Tell us which you run when you order and we will supply the matching variant. The difference is only in the bracket shape, not in the shocks themselves.
Key benefits
- 14 inches of stroke at 14¼ inches collapsed – the patented floating body with two parallel shafts. Extended length is 28¼ inches.
- Dual opposing nitrogen charged reservoirs – added cooling capacity. The rear axle works hardest with the vehicle loaded and on long descents, and with more stroke the oil heats faster.
- 5/8in titanium nitride coated shaft – heavier than typical, low friction, easier on the seals.
- Billet rod ends, fully rebuildable – a shock designed to be serviced rather than replaced.
- Upgraded main seal material – the usual failure point in mud and salt.
- Complete mounting hardware included – upper bar pin eliminators in A36 steel and lower brackets in 3/16in plate with a gold zinc finish, plus spacers.

Important note on the manufacturer's warranty
MetalCloak states on this product page that 6Pak shocks are not shipped outside North America, and that ordering them from outside the USA or Canada waives the rights to lifetime customer service and the manufacturer's warranty. We state it plainly because it applies to every unit bought in Europe. Warranty and complaint handling for purchases made in our shop are governed by the Szekla4x4.pl terms and conditions — contact us before ordering if this matters to you.
Who they are for
For JKs on a 5.5in lift — vehicles whose suspension has been rebuilt seriously, usually alongside long arms. The rear benefits most when the vehicle travels loaded: rack, roof tent, expedition kit. That is when the rear shocks work hardest, and two inches more stroke than the lower-lift version translates into real articulation. With the 7432F they make a complete set for both axles.
Installation notes
MetalCloak rates the install as easy and quotes about an hour, with no body modification. The kit contains every mount needed, including the bar pin eliminators at the top — the part most easily forgotten when buying shocks alone.
An alignment by a suspension specialist is recommended after any suspension change. The shocks are rebuildable and MetalCloak handles the service.
You can leave the fitting and the choice of length to us — Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised MetalCloak dealer with a workshop specialising in off-road suspension.
Why they are worth it
- Two inches more stroke than the lower-lift version — on a tall build that shows up on the trail, not in the catalogue.
- Twin reservoirs and a heavy shaft, so the damping does not fade an hour into the drive.
- Every mount in the box, so the install does not stall on a missing part.

Frequently asked questions
How does this version differ from the 7130R?
In length. This one has 14 inches of stroke and an extended length of 28¼ inches; the 7130R has 12 inches and 25¼ inches. This version is specified for a 5.5in lift, the other for 3.5in and for 4.5in mid-arm kits.
Why the question about the exhaust?
The lower shock bracket comes in a stock exhaust version and an aftermarket exhaust version. Tell us which you run and we will supply the matching one. The shocks themselves are identical.
Are the mounts included?
Yes. The kit includes the upper bar pin eliminators in A36 steel, the lower brackets in 3/16in gold zinc plate, spacers and all required hardware.
Does the install require body modification?
No. MetalCloak rates it as easy, quotes about an hour and lists no modifications.
Can the shocks be rebuilt?
Yes. The rod ends are precision machined billet and fully rebuildable, and MetalCloak runs the rebuild service.
