Brackets that relocate the rear RockSport Black reservoir shocks' reservoirs to the outboard frame rails of the Jeep Wrangler JK. 1/8in steel with a gold zinc finish, adjustable clamps, maximum clearance and free access to the compression adjustment knobs. A set for both sides. Approx. 1 hour to fit, drilling required.

MetalCloak RockSport Black Rear Reservoir Shock Mounts, Jeep Wrangler JK

A remote reservoir shock has one practical drawback: the reservoir has to be mounted somewhere, and mounted so that it neither takes hits nor puts the adjustment knob out of reach. On the RockSport BLACK that is not a detail — with eight compression settings, the knob needs to be where your hand can get to it, not buried among suspension components.

These brackets relocate both rear reservoirs to the outboard frame rails. The result is twofold: maximum clearance around the reservoirs and free access to the adjustment knobs. The reservoirs are held by adjustable clamps, so you choose the angle yourself.

VEHICLE
Jeep Wrangler JK 2007–2018
MATERIAL
1/8in steel, gold zinc finish
INSTALLATION
approx. 1 hour, drilling required

Note: installation requires drilling

The brackets mount to the outboard frame rails and the manufacturer lists the body modification as drilling. That is the only intervention — nothing needs cutting or welding, and the whole job takes about an hour.

Key benefits

  • Access to the adjustment knob – with shocks offering eight compression settings, this decides whether you will actually use that adjustment.
  • Maximum clearance around the reservoirs – the reservoir stops being the part you worry about on the trail.
  • Adjustable gold zinc clamps – you set the reservoir angle to suit your vehicle rather than to one fixed hole.
  • 1/8in steel with a corrosion resistant finish – this part lives in mud and salt, right above the wheel.
  • A set for both sides – two mounts, four clamps and all required hardware.

Who they are for

For owners of rear RockSport Black reservoir shocks who want the adjustment knobs genuinely within reach and more room around the reservoirs. They earn their place particularly on vehicles where you change the damping setting depending on whether you are running empty around town or loaded on the trail — because then access to the knob stops being a convenience and starts being the difference between adjusting and not bothering.

Installation notes

MetalCloak rates the install as easy and allows about an hour for it. Drilling in the frame rails is required — nothing beyond that. If you would rather leave it to a workshop, come to us: Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised MetalCloak dealer with a workshop specialising in off-road suspension.

Why they are worth it

  • Damping adjustment only makes sense if you can reach it without jacking the vehicle up.
  • A reservoir moved out of the impact zone means fewer reasons to worry on a harder section.
  • A small outlay next to shocks that cost many times more.
