A set of 4 laser cut 1/8in steel spacers (3.2 mm), gold zinc, for corner height correction — they take out the factory "JK lean" and the lean that appears once a winch, armour or a rack is added. They stack, so height is set independently per side. The factory rubber isolator holds them: no drilling or welding, 1 hour to fit. ⚠ This is not a lift, it is levelling. Fits the JK, JL and Gladiator (except the Mojave) — confirmed in the manufacturer's Q&A.

MetalCloak Front Coil Spring Spacer Set, Jeep Wrangler JK and JL, Set of 4

Almost every JK sits slightly crooked. The fuel tank is on the passenger side, the driver sits on the other, and once a winch, a rack or asymmetrically fitted armour is added, the vehicle starts leaning to one side. Among JK owners it even has its own name: "JK lean".

These spacers correct it. Four steel shims 1/8in thick (approx. 3.2 mm), laser cut, gold zinc finished. They sit above the coil — and they stack, so corner height is adjusted in steps, by exactly as much as you need.

The factory rubber isolator holds them in place — nothing to drill, nothing to weld. The manufacturer rates the install easy, 1 hour.

⚠ This is not a lift — it is levelling

An important distinction, because the word "spacer" can mislead. These shims correct the height of an individual corner, they do not raise the vehicle. The manufacturer calls them "a fine tuning option for our most discerning Jeepers".

At 1/8in each they give a small, controlled step — exactly what is needed to take a lean out. If you are after lifting the vehicle, that is a job for coils or dedicated lift spacers — get in touch and we will find the right ones.

When they help

  • The factory JK lean – the most common reason. The manufacturer's reviews repeatedly mention "passenger side lean" and "gas tank lean": the mass of the tank on one side does its work. One customer writes that he sees that lean on nearly every JK around his town.
  • After adding equipment – a winch, a bumper, a rack, armour or a second battery rarely distribute themselves symmetrically.
  • After a coil change – new springs can differ slightly; a single shim can even it out. One of the manufacturer's customers describes exactly that: he fitted them while changing the front coils and the vehicle has sat straight for two years.

Steel, not plastic

The manufacturer makes them from laser cut 1/8in steel plate with a gold zinc finish. That is a different proposition from the plastic spacers packed with cheap lift kits — as one reviewer put it briefly: they do not "eat themselves" the way cheap plastic spacers in other kits do.

The spacers are not bolted to anything — the factory rubber coil isolator holds them in place. Hence the install with no drilling and no extra hardware.

The set is four spacers — stacked, as many as you need.

Compatibility — broader than the manufacturer's table says

The specification table lists only "2007 - 2018 JK Wrangler", but the product name says "JK/JL" and the manufacturer's own Q&A settles it:

"These spacers will work with all trim levels of the JK and JL Wrangler and non-Mojave Gladiators."

⚠ The Gladiator Mojave is the exception — it has a different front suspension and these spacers do not apply there. Running a Mojave? Get in touch before ordering.

Spacers and retainers — the manufacturer names them together

In its technical text the manufacturer says a lean is remedied "with the combination of spacers and retainers". The coil spring retainers (part no. 7182, rear axle) are stocked here — on vehicles with plenty of travel they are the natural companion to this item.

What's in the kit

  • 4 × front coil spring spacer, 1/8in steel plate

The spacers stack — the set lets you set the height independently on each side.

Who they are for

For anyone who looks at their Jeep head-on and sees it sitting crooked — which, on a JK, is the rule rather than the exception. Also for workshops finishing a build: once all the equipment is on, this is the part that brings the vehicle back to level.

It is the most-reviewed MetalCloak item in our range — 98% from ten reviews. The recurring theme in all of them: a simple thing that fixes an irritating problem.

Installation notes

The spacers go in above the coil, with the load off the axle. The manufacturer allows an hour and rates the install easy — in practice it is most convenient alongside a coil or shock change, when the front is apart anyway.

Start with one spacer and check the result — 1/8in is not much, but levelling a lean is exactly about small steps. After the correction it is worth checking the alignment.

Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised MetalCloak dealer with a workshop specialising in off-road suspension — if you are having coils changed, we will level the vehicle at the same time.

Why they are worth it

  • They fix a problem visible in every head-on photograph of the vehicle.
  • Laser cut steel rather than plastic — they do not deform over time.
  • Stepped adjustment: add as many as needed, independently per side.
  • No drilling or welding — the factory isolator holds them.

Frequently asked questions

Will this lift my vehicle?

Not in the sense of a lift kit. This is corner height correction — 1/8in per spacer. Lifting the vehicle is a job for coils or dedicated lift spacers.

Do they fit the JL and the Gladiator?

Yes. The manufacturer confirmed in its Q&A: all trim levels of the JK and JL, and non-Mojave Gladiators. The specification table lists only the JK — that is an omission on its part.

I have a Gladiator Mojave.

Then no. The Mojave has a different front suspension — get in touch and we will look for the right solution.

How many spacers should I fit?

As many as it takes for the vehicle to sit level — usually one or two on the lower side. The set of four lets you set each side separately.

Do they need to be bolted down?

No. The factory rubber coil isolator holds them in place.

Are there rear spacers too?

This set is for the front axle. For the rear, get in touch and we will find the right solution.

Is an alignment needed afterwards?

The change is small, but after any ride-height correction it is worth checking the axle settings.
