MetalCloak Overline Rocker Rails (rock sliders), Black Powder Coat, Jeep Wrangler JK 2-Door (pair)
This is the item in MetalCloak's range you reach for when you know the vehicle is going to lie down on a rock — and you expect it to drive off again without a bodyshop.
The construction is fully welded: 3/16in steel plate (4.8 mm) CAD formed, with 1½in × .120 tubing welded on as the rub rail, plus welded gussets. The manufacturer's own phrase is "beyond heavy duty".
The geometry matters as much as the metal: the integrated deflector plate pushes an obstacle outwards rather than letting it catch on the rocker. The manufacturer's comparison is a hull — "almost like boat-sides for your Jeep".

VEHICLE Wrangler JK 2-door 2007–2018 | CONSTRUCTION 3/16in plate + 1½in tube fully welded | INSTALLATION 2–4 h, bolt-on no cutting or welding |
Three features that are easy to overlook when buying
- Hi-Lift jack points. Built into the structure — on the trail you can lift the vehicle by the rocker rather than hunting for a frame point. The manufacturer adds its own warning: "Always use extreme caution when lifting your Jeep", and that is a fair note — lifting by the rocker needs firm ground and a clear head.
- A built-in step. On a lifted vehicle with big tyres that is not an extra, it is something used every day.
- Approach and departure angles. The rail is shaped so it does not cost you ramp angle — it does not hang lower than it has to.
Installation: no cutting, no welding
That is rare for sliders of this class. The manufacturer says it plainly: "No body modification, cutting or welding needed; just drill a few holes and bolt on." Difficulty: easy, time 2–4 hours.
⚠ "A few holes" is still drilling into the body, and it cannot be undone. Trial fit before the first hole, especially if the ExoSkins are also on the plan — with both parts some of the lower holes may overlap.

? The rail and the plate are two layers of one system
MetalCloak designs the side of the vehicle as a system: "each piece improves on the strength of the next". It is worth knowing what each layer does, because both also work on their own:
| part | role | with us |
| 3310 — rocker rail ← this listing | takes the impact and deflects the obstacle outwards | this item |
| 3311 — rocker ExoSkin | stiffens the rocker metal and spreads load into the body | in our range |
The manufacturer: "Combined with the optional Exo-Skins, you have full, rock-biting, functional protection for your rig." The rail alone is enough for off-road use; the plate is what you add where the vehicle genuinely leans its whole side onto rock.
? One of the manufacturer's customers described it from the build side — the rails were the last piece of the puzzle: he already had the rear ExoSkin with a removable flare, the Overline front tube fenders with a quick-release flare, and the rocker ExoSkins. His verdict: "I was really surprised that everything fit together like a glove." We stock all of those parts.

Who it's for
For 2-door JKs that go where the rocker meets stone — not for a vehicle that wants to look as though it does. 3/16in plate and welded tube is a different class of thing from the common thin-tube sliders on brackets.
Also for anyone starting with the sliders and adding the rest of the armour later. It is a good first piece: it protects the most exposed part of the vehicle and needs nothing else to work.
100% from three reviews at the manufacturer. A small sample and we say so, but one is from a workshop (The Jeep Shop Inc), and another points at exactly what you are paying for: "The design and welds are awesome as well as being super tough!"
Installation notes
The pair weighs close to 30 kg, so trial fitting takes two people or a lift. The install itself is straightforward — the risk is in where the holes go, not in the difficulty of the work.
If the ExoSkins are also planned, the sensible move is to order and fit both together — then the holes are drilled once, from one trial fit, rather than twice into the same metal.
⚠ Planning to paint them body colour? The manufacturer requires a test fit before painting and does not cover the cost of any custom finish applied. With the powder coated version we sell, that does not arise.
Szekla4x4.pl is an authorised MetalCloak dealer with a workshop specialising in Jeeps — we will fit the rails together with the plates or the rest of the armour in one visit.
Why they're worth it
- 3/16in plate and welded tube — built for actually leaning on rock, not for the look.
- The deflector plate pushes obstacles away instead of letting them catch.
- Hi-Lift points and a step come as standard, at no extra cost.
- Bolt-on — no cutting and no welding on the body.
- Black textured powder coat — consistent with the rest of the MetalCloak armour.
Frequently asked questions
Will it fit a 4-door JK?
No. The 4-door has its own part number, 3315 — we do not hold it in stock but we order it in. Get in touch for a price and a lead time.
Do I have to buy the ExoSkins as well?
No. The manufacturer describes them as optional. The rail is a complete solution on its own; the plate is an additional layer that stiffens the metal behind it.
Is any cutting or welding needed?
No. The manufacturer states it plainly: no body modification, no cutting and no welding — drill a few holes and bolt them on.
Can I lift the vehicle on them with a Hi-Lift?
Yes, the points are built into the structure. The manufacturer — and we — remind you to do it only on firm ground and with extreme care.
Will they cost me clearance?
The rails are designed with approach and departure angles in mind, and the deflector plate angles outwards rather than downwards. Tell us your lift and tyre size and we will say how it works out.
Do they work with factory flares?
The rails mount to the rocker, not to the arches, so flares do not come into it. If you run unusual side armour, get in touch before ordering.
What is the lead time?
3–5 weeks at the manufacturer plus transport to Poland — it is made to order. If you take the ExoSkins too, we ship it as one order.
