MetalCloak Overland Rocker Base, Black Powder Coat, Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited 4-Door (pair)
On a Jeep the rocker is the panel you only think about once — the time the vehicle slides sideways onto a rock. The manufacturer does not dress it up: "Without protection in this area, it is certain you will get damage to your Jeep if your taking it off-road."
The Overland rocker base is 1/8in steel plate (3.2 mm), CAD formed and laser cut, in a boat side shape — angled outwards so an obstacle deflects rather than catches. It bolts on, with no cutting and no welding.

? The benchmark the manufacturer gives itself
"This base will give you as much protection as the factory Rubicon rockers, with the benefit of being able to add the MetalCloak multi-configuration flip step."
That is a fair way to put it: these are not rock sliders for leaning the vehicle onto stone — they are factory Rubicon level, plus the option to build on. Anyone needing more should look at the Overline rocker rails (3310 / 3315), which we also stock.
A two-part system — and that is its whole advantage
The base works on its own, but it has built-in mounting points for the Flip Step. The step (3327) is a separate item we also stock, and it can be added later without touching the base.
? An honest note on price: the manufacturer also sells the base and steps together as one item (3351 for the 4-door, 3350 for the 2-door). The kit price is exactly the sum of the two parts bought separately — the kit is ordering convenience, not a discount. Buying separately makes sense if you want to spread the cost.
What's in the kit
- 2 × rocker base (driver and passenger), 1/8in steel
- all required hardware
⚠ The Flip Steps are a separate item (3327).

? From the reviews
A customer who replaced his factory sliders: "I bought these to replace my factory sliders and they have been on for 3 years now. The original install was very easy (I am not a mechanic but I do have mechanical aptitude), if I recall correctly it took me most of a day to complete the install of which most of the time was waiting for primer to dry in a garage during Michigan winter. They still look great." Another: "Easy to install and very minimal drilling."
Who it's for
For JK owners who want rocker protection at factory Rubicon level, without cutting or welding, with the option of adding a step. A sensible choice for a daily-driven and overland vehicle.
100% from two reviews at the manufacturer — a small sample, and we say so.
Installation notes
The manufacturer rates it easy, 2–4 hours, with no cutting or welding but some drilling. The reviews confirm there is markedly less drilling here than with the ExoSkin plates.
⚠ For custom paint the manufacturer requires a test fit before painting and does not cover the cost of any finish applied. With the powder coated version that does not arise.

Frequently asked questions
Is any cutting or welding needed?
No. The manufacturer states plainly: no body modification, cutting or welding — the base bolts to the side of the vehicle.
Is it as strong as rocker rails?
No, and the manufacturer does not claim it is. The benchmark is the factory Rubicon rockers. For genuinely leaning onto rock, the Overline rocker rails (3310 / 3315) are the answer.
Does it fit the 2-door JK?
No. That body has part number 3312.
Do I have to buy the steps at the same time?
No. The base works on its own, and the steps (3327) can be added later — the mounting points are already in the base.
What is the lead time?
3–5 weeks at the manufacturer plus transport to Poland.
