MetalCloak Open Frame — aluminium front tube doors, Jeep Wrangler JK

Tube doors are the simplest way to run open-air without giving up doors altogether. The open frame gives you a clear view of the obstacle right next to the tyre — in a tight line you can see where you are placing the Jeep instead of guessing.

This set is all aluminium: 1/8in plate and 1.25in × .125 tube, finished in black powder coat. Aluminium instead of steel means real weight off the hinges and no rust in the place that rusts first.

How the latch works

On most tube doors the weak point is the closure. MetalCloak kept the factory latch mechanism and backed it with a laser-cut steel plate carrying the “M” logo, then solved opening with a cable-driven Actuator Handle. The doors open and close like the factory ones — no reaching inside, no yanking on a tube.

Mirrors — ordered separately

Tube doors have no mirrors. That is what the MetalCloak mirror kit (part no. 4102) is for — three-bolt mounting, four-position articulating arm. Exterior mirrors are mandatory on public roads in Poland, so if you drive on tube doors on tarmac, order them with the doors.

⚠ Before you order — road legality

The manufacturer marks these doors Off Road Use Only. They carry no European type approval, and have no glass and no side-impact protection. On Polish public roads this can be challenged at a roadside check or at the periodic inspection. If your Jeep is registered and driven on the road, contact us before ordering and we will talk it through.

FAQ

Any drilling or cutting?

No. The doors go on the factory hinges; no body modification is needed.

Do they lock?

There is no key lock — the frame is open, so anyone could reach inside anyway. This is a weekend-in-the-rocks solution, not a city car park one.

Do the factory mirrors fit?

No. You need the MC4102 kit.

Do they fit both the 2-door and the 4-door?

Yes — the front doors are the same on both JK bodies.
