MetalCloak — fender-to-grill reinforcement brackets, pair, Jeep Wrangler JK
The JK's body panels are thin — that is not an opinion but something the manufacturer states outright: “The JK Wrangler is notorious for having weak sheet metal paneling." The front fenders hang mostly off that thin inner panel, and a solid hit on a tree, or laying the Jeep on its side, simply bends them.
This pair ties the fender to the grill on both sides and closes the structure into a triangle. The difference is immediate — the fender stops flexing.

What it is for
The brackets are made for MetalCloak Overland and Hardline front fenders. The manufacturer treats them as a companion to those fenders rather than a stand-alone part.
Customers say the same thing — one of the top-rated reviews ends with the line that “this should just be part of the fender kit". If you are ordering Overland or Hardline fenders, add these at the same time and save yourself a second shipment from the USA.
Construction
- 1/8in aluminium plate — stiff, and it adds no weight to the front overhang
- MetalCloak black textured powder coat (the version we stock; the manufacturer also offers raw)
- Black zinc plated steel hardware included
⚠ One hole to drill
The manufacturer lists “body modification: none", but in practice one hole has to be drilled through a structural member. A customer review describes it: “One hole to drill through some thick structural steel and you should open the hood and remove the turn signal or the grille to help get the nuts tight."
It is not difficult, but it is worth knowing before you start — you will need a drill and access from the grill side.
