MetalCloak Frame-Built Combo front bumper base for the Jeep Wrangler JK 2007-2018. 3/16in hot rolled steel, integrated winch plate (mid-frame up to 12,000 lbs), welded shackle mounts for a 7/8in adapter. The winch sits low and does not block grill airflow. Black textured powder coat. ⚠ End caps sold separately. 2012-2018 requires the vacuum pump relocation kit (MC3151).
MetalCloak — Frame-Built Combo front bumper base, Jeep Wrangler JK
This is the foundation of the whole Frame-Built system. It replaces the factory bumper — plastic or thin steel — with a 3/16in hot rolled steel plate carrying an integrated winch plate and welded-on shackle mounts.
The base is modular: you add end caps, a winch guard, a stinger, a bull bar, a light bar, a fairlead and a skid plate — all bolt-on, so the configuration can change later.
Winch
- Fits all popular brands with no modification
- The winch sits as low as possible between the frame rails — a deliberate design choice so it does not cut airflow through the seven-slot grill
- The manufacturer's rating: a mid-frame winch up to 12,000 lbs
Recovery points
Welded shackle mounts take up to a 7/8in adapter. These are structural recovery points, not bolted tabs.
⚠ The manufacturer notes: “Shackle mounts are engineered to be used as recovery points only; the shackle mounts are NOT designed for flat-towing."
? The base alone is not a complete bumper
The manufacturer says so plainly: “Utilizes MetalCloak Bumper End Caps (sold separately)."
At minimum you need end caps. We stock:
- MC3165 — 46in Crawler Caps (no fog lights, best approach angle)
- MC3164 — 49in Light Caps (factory fog lights)
- MC3166 — 56in Light Caps (factory fog lights, widest)
If you are not running a winch, the MC3102 cover plate closes the winch opening cleanly.

⚠ 2012–2018 — vacuum pump relocation kit required
The manufacturer: “The Frame Built Combo Bumper Base for 2012 - 2018 JK Wranglers requires the Vacuum Pump Relocation Kit." On those years the pump sits where the base goes.
The price on this card is for the base configuration (2007–2011). For 2012–2018 you need the relocation kit — we stock it as MC3151 (the version combined with an sPod mount). Contact us when ordering.
⚠ Bumpers bought before May 2014
In May 2014 the manufacturer updated the JK Frame-Built system. Parts from this card may not be compatible with bumpers bought before then.
