MetalCloak — winch guard, Jeep Wrangler JK / JL and Gladiator JT

The winch is the most expensive thing on the front of the Jeep and the most exposed. This guard runs a hoop over the drum and takes the frontal hit — from a rock, a stump, or a branch coming in between the grill and the line.

The design is low profile: the manufacturer built it so it does not obstruct your line of sight and — unlike bulky tube bumpers — costs no approach angle.

⚠ This is a modular part of the MetalCloak bumper system. It bolts to the Frame-Built Combo bumper base — JK (MC3160, which we stock) as well as the JL and JT versions. It does not work with the factory bumper.

⚠ Bumpers bought before May 2014

In May 2014 the manufacturer updated the JK Frame-Built system. This guard may not fit bases bought before then.

FAQ

Will it block my view?

No. The low profile is exactly what it was designed for.

Does it hurt the approach angle?

No — the hoop goes over the winch, not ahead of the bumper.

Can I take it off?

Yes. It is fully bolt-on.

Does it fit another brand's bumper?

No. MetalCloak Frame-Built only.
