MetalCloak Mid Stinger front hoop for the Frame-Built bumper. 1 3/4in x .120 steel tube, 3/16in gussets, 1/8in aluminium back plates, black powder coat. Protects grill, radiator and winch; on a steep climb it makes contact first. Low profile - no loss of approach angle. Fits JK, JL and JT. ⚠ Requires a MetalCloak Frame-Built bumper (MC3160).
MetalCloak Mid Stinger — front hoop, Jeep Wrangler JK / JL and Gladiator JT
A stinger only really makes sense when you climb genuinely steep walls. The hoop reaches forward and up ahead of the grill, so on a climb that is too steep it makes contact first and stops the Jeep before it goes over backwards.
The rest of the time it does something simpler: it shields the grill, radiator and winch from branches and light contact.
Construction
- 1 3/4in × .120 wall steel tube
- 3/16in hot rolled steel gussets
- 1/8in aluminium back mounting plates — they spread the bolt load so it does not dish the bumper plate
- Low profile — no loss of sight lines and no loss of approach angle
- Removable, hardware included

⚠ This is a modular part of the MetalCloak bumper system. It bolts to the Frame-Built Combo bumper base — JK (MC3160, which we stock) as well as the JL and JT versions. It does not work with the factory bumper.
⚠ Bumpers bought before May 2014
In May 2014 the manufacturer updated the JK Frame-Built system. This stinger may not fit bases bought before then.

FAQ
Do I need a stinger?
If you do not climb very steep walls, mainly as grill and radiator protection. Its real function shows up in rock work.
Can it be combined with the winch guard?
In the manufacturer's pre-configured builds the stinger and the winch guard appear separately. If you want both, contact us and we will check compatibility for your build.
Will it block my view?
The low profile is exactly what it was designed to avoid.
Does it fit another brand's bumper?
No. MetalCloak Frame-Built only.
