MetalCloak — Hi-Lift mount for the swing-out tire carrier
A simple 1/8in cold rolled steel bracket that bolts to the accessory wings on the arm of the MetalCloak swing-out tire carrier. It lets you carry a Hi-Lift jack on the back instead of in the cargo area.

- It can foul the rear wiper on a hardtop. A customer: “On the passengers side it will interfere with the wiper if you have a hard top."
- It can limit tailgate opening. Same customer: “if it is not mounted quite high it will interfere with the tailgate opening fully as well."
- The holes do not always line up with a given jack. A customer: “through holes didn't line up correctly with my HiJack, so I used two different holes."
- With very large tyres the mounting bolt can touch the tyre.
For balance, the other reviews are positive — “Looks cleaner than carriage bolts I had before. Solid piece.", “Holds the Hi-Lift in a convenient location.". Under the critical reviews the manufacturer offers a refund if it does not work out.
Our advice: if you run a hardtop with a wiper and a large spare, check the clearance before ordering, or contact us. With a soft top and a standard setup the problem does not arise.
