MetalCloak — 2in hitch recovery adapter with D-ring shackle

A factory tow hitch is not a recovery point — the ball and tongue are not designed for it, and pulling on them can end badly. This kit turns a 2in receiver into a proper, rated pulling point.

What is in the kit

• Recovery hitch machined from a single piece of aluminium — not welded, not assembled

Straight and side pulls

The adapter can be pulled out and rotated 90 degrees, so it handles both a straight pull and a side pull. Recovering a vehicle out of a ditch at an angle, that is the difference between a safe pull and bent hardware.

Finish

The adapter carries MetalCloak's signature Infinity Finish.

⚠ Not for flat-towing

The manufacturer notes, as with all its shackle points: “Shackle mounts are engineered to be used as recovery points only; the shackle mounts are NOT designed for flat-towing."

⚠ Note that the 9,500 lb figure is the shackle's rating. Any system is only as strong as its weakest link — including the receiver and how it is mounted to the frame. For heavy recoveries (snatch pulls in particular) that is worth checking.
