MetalCloak — tailgate finish plate, Jeep Wrangler JK

Take the factory tire carrier off the tailgate and you are left with bare mounting holes and a plastic vent grille. This plate closes both — the gate gets a clean metal finish instead of the holes left behind.

Why two pieces

The manufacturer uses a two-piece design not for looks but because it eliminates the factory plastic venting while keeping the venting function as the vehicle manufacturer intended.

When you need it

When the spare moves onto a carrier — SportGate (MC3956) or the tub-mount carrier (MC3970) — or when you run with no spare on the back at all. The factory carrier comes off and the gate is finished properly.

The manufacturer offers raw and black textured powder coat. We stock the black powder coat — it matches the rest of the MetalCloak hardware. We can quote raw on request.
