This kit does two jobs that are usually solved separately: it keeps the rear coil in place and it lets you fine-tune corner height.
The retainer — why it is not paranoia
The manufacturer is honest about it. Its own True Dual Rate coils are designed so that “the spring stays in contact at full droop" — but not all coils are made the same.
From the manufacturer's own description: “If you have other aftermarket coils or your custom set up depends on limiting straps or uses the shocks as an end stop; it is possible for the coil to come loose or worst case fall out if those limiters break unexpectedly."
The retainer is cheap insurance against an expensive problem — a coil that drops out on the trail ends the trip.
The spacers — what they are for
The spacers are shims that stack under the spring. Each layer raises one corner.
Why bother? Because a built Jeep rarely sits level. A winch at the front, a tire carrier at the back, a tank on one side — every addition shifts the weight distribution. Spacers are the cheapest way to level the vehicle without changing springs.
