UnderCloak Integrated Armor System - Jeep JL Wrangler 4-Door

UnderCloak is MetalCloak's complete underbody armor system for the gas-engine 4-Door JL Wrangler. It replaces the thin factory skids with heavy steel and closes the whole underside into one continuous plane - from the oil pan skid through the transmission to the fuel tank.

An integrated system, not a set of loose plates

UnderCloak is a boat-sided system: the edges of successive plates form one continuous, smooth plane from front to rear. Instead of catching on an obstacle, the underbody slides over it. The plates are tied together with 3/8" (9.5 mm) gusset straps, so the system stiffens the frame rather than merely adding weight to it.

Gold Zinc finish

Every part is gold zinc plated. Unlike paint or powder coat, zinc protects the steel electrochemically even where it is scratched - and skid plates are scratched from the first trip out. The surface can be painted if you prefer a custom finish.

Weight matters: this is one of the heaviest things you can bolt under a Jeep. Factor it into your GVWR budget and your spring choice - the front end will settle noticeably once the full system is installed.

Engine variants and price: the manufacturer offers this system in several variants depending on engine and model year (3.6 with and without eTorque, 2.0 with and without eTorque, 2018-2020 and 2021+). Our price is for the 2.0L non-eTorque variant, the most common one in Europe. Please state your model year and engine when ordering - if your vehicle needs a different variant we will confirm the price before processing.

2024 model year: the manufacturer notes that on 2024 eTorque models the driver side bracket may require modification.

Installation

The manufacturer rates the install as moderate and quotes 3-4 hours. No cutting or welding. Given the weight we recommend a lift and a second pair of hands.

Homologation: this product carries no European type approval. Road legality after installation is decided by the vehicle inspection station; check before buying if in doubt.

Warranty and service
