43" Hi Crawler Caps for the Frame-Built Bumper - Jeep CJ/YJ/TJ/LJ

Interchangeable end caps for the modular Frame-Built bumper system. 43" wide - narrower than the factory TJ bumper, so the caps do not extend past the tires.

Hi-Crawler caps reach higher up the body and cover more of the front sheet metal. The choice for wooded trails and narrow passages where the body is easily caught.

The Frame-Built system for the TJ

Frame-Built bumpers are modular: one frame-mounted base plus interchangeable end caps and optional hoops. A damaged cap is replaced on its own, and the configuration can change without buying a whole new bumper.

Two cap types in the TJ range: Hi-Crawler 43" reach higher and cover more of the front body; Lo-Pro Crawler 43" sit lower for a better approach angle. Both are 43" wide - narrower than the factory TJ bumper, so the caps do not stick out past the tires.

Black Textured Powder Coat

The powder coated version carries MetalCloak's signature micro-textured semi-gloss finish. It resists stone chipping and local trail damage can be touched up without refinishing the whole part.

Requirement: the caps mount on the Frame-Built bumper base (2109). They are not a bumper on their own.

Before painting: the manufacturer requires a test fit on the vehicle before any custom paint or powder coating. Painted parts cannot be returned.

Installation

Easy. The manufacturer quotes 20 minutes.

A note on vehicle age

TJs and LJs are now twenty to nearly thirty years old. Expect seized bolts and corroded frame threads when removing factory parts - soak the joints in penetrant beforehand and use anti-seize on reassembly. Several reviews of TJ parts are really about this rather than about the part.
