Forward Angle Shackle Mounts, Pair for the Frame-Built Bumper - Jeep CJ/YJ/TJ/LJ

Shackle mounts angled forward - for bumpers without a hoop. The forward angle reduces side loading on the shackle when recovering at an angle.

Specification

• Mounts: 3/16" (4.8 mm) hot rolled steel
• Finish: black powder coat
• Fitment: Jeep CJ 1972-1986, YJ 1987-1995, TJ/LJ 1997-2006

Requirement: the manufacturer notes these mounts are for a bumper without a hoop. With a hoop, use the Hi-Mount shackles (2131) or the weld-on shackles supplied with the hoop.

Manufacturer's important notes

• Recovery points: the shackle mounts are for vehicle recovery only. The manufacturer states they are not designed for flat-towing.
• January 2024 design change: the shackle mounts now have a rounded edge, allowing the use of either standard metal d-rings or soft shackles.

A note on vehicle age

TJs and LJs are now twenty to nearly thirty years old. Expect seized bolts and corroded frame threads when removing factory parts - soak the joints in penetrant beforehand and use anti-seize on reassembly. Several reviews of TJ parts are really about this rather than about the part.
