Double Adjustable Aluminum Control Arms, Upper Front, Pair - Jeep TJ/LJ Wrangler

A pair of upper front aluminum control arms on Duroflex joints, adjustable at both ends. Replacing the factory rubber-bushed arms buys both more articulation and the ability to set the geometry correctly after a lift.

Double adjustable aluminum arms

A 1.5" hex aircraft aluminum body is lighter than steel at comparable stiffness - unsprung mass matters more in suspension than body mass. Double adjustable means threads at both ends: length can be changed without removing the arm from the vehicle, which saves a great deal of time when setting caster and centring the axle.

The Duroflex joint

A patented joint in vulcanised elastomer reinforced with DuPont Kevlar fibre. It allows more misalignment than factory rubber, self-centres, damps vibration - without the noise of spherical joints - is maintenance free, and is rebuildable.

"I installed both the upper and lower front control arms on my TJ that has a 2.5 inch lift. The bolts that were sent with the upper control arms didn't hack it. The threading stripped out before I could torque them down to 19 ft lbs. I lost two bolts in this adventure but was simply able to resort back to the factory bolts just fine." - 4/5

Our advice: keep the factory bolts to hand, or a set of new grade 10.9 bolts in the right size.

After installation: the manufacturer recommends a suspension specialist aligns the vehicle after any work on the suspension or steering.

Easy to moderate. 1-2 hours. An alignment is required afterwards.

A note on vehicle age

TJs and LJs are now twenty to nearly thirty years old. Expect seized bolts and corroded frame threads when removing factory parts - soak the joints in penetrant beforehand and use anti-seize on reassembly. Several reviews of TJ parts are really about this rather than about the part.
