Long Arm Belly Pan Centre Section, 1997-2002 - Jeep TJ/LJ Wrangler
The centre section of the three-piece long arm belly pan. The plate does two jobs: it shields the transfer case and it ties the arm brackets together, stiffening the whole structure. It also raises the transfer case a couple of inches, improving break-over angle.

The model year version matters: the TJ changed its transfer case mounting in 2003, so the 1997-2002 plate does not fit 2003-2006 and vice versa. State your model year when ordering.
Note - welding required
The manufacturer rates this as difficult and it requires welding. Do not buy it unless you have access to welding. We can do this work in our workshop.
Installation
Difficult; the manufacturer recommends a licensed installer. 2-3 hours.
A note on vehicle age
TJs and LJs are now twenty to nearly thirty years old. Expect seized bolts and corroded frame threads when removing factory parts - soak the joints in penetrant beforehand and use anti-seize on reassembly. Several reviews of TJ parts are really about this rather than about the part.
