Upper Rear Weld-On Spring Bucket Relocation - Jeep TJ/LJ Wrangler

With more lift the rear coils on a TJ start working at an angle and can fall out of their seat at full droop. This kit relocates the upper spring bucket to put the coil back in line and adds a bump stop support.

Specification

• Spring bucket: 3/16" (4.8 mm) hot rolled steel
• Bump stop support: 2 1/2" OD x .12" wall steel tube
• Finish: raw steel
• Fitment: Jeep TJ and LJ Wrangler 1997-2006

Note - welding required

The manufacturer rates this as difficult and it requires welding. Do not buy it unless you have access to welding. We can do this work in our workshop.

Builder Parts: the manufacturer classifies this as a builder part. There are no instructions and no implied warranty for its use - use at your own risk and with the appropriate skill level.

Installation

Difficult. Cutting and welding required. 1-2 hours. The finish is raw - protect it after welding.

A note on vehicle age

TJs and LJs are now twenty to nearly thirty years old. Expect seized bolts and corroded frame threads when removing factory parts - soak the joints in penetrant beforehand and use anti-seize on reassembly. Several reviews of TJ parts are really about this rather than about the part.
