True Dual Rate

A dual rate coil has two distinct rates: a soft one for ride quality and a firmer one for load. The manufacturer stresses its coils are extra long in free length, so they stay seated even at extreme articulation - a wheel can drop away without the coil falling out.

Manufacturer's important notes

• They work best as part of a system. True Dual Rate coils are engineered to perform best with Duroflex control arms and 6Pak or RockSport shocks. Fitted alone with worn factory arms they will not show their full potential.
• Do not powder coat. The baking process can change the metallurgical properties of the steel and cost the coil its lift properties - meaning the vehicle settles.

After installation: the manufacturer recommends a suspension specialist aligns the vehicle after any work on the suspension or steering.

Installation

Easy. 1-2 hours. An alignment is required afterwards.

A note on vehicle age

TJs and LJs are now twenty to nearly thirty years old. Expect seized bolts and corroded frame threads when removing factory parts - soak the joints in penetrant beforehand and use anti-seize on reassembly. Several reviews of TJ parts are really about this rather than about the part.

Homologation: this product carries no European type approval. Road legality after installation is decided by the vehicle inspection station; check before buying if in doubt.
