Tail Gate Finish Plate, Aluminum - Jeep TJ/LJ Wrangler
An aluminum plate covering the tailgate after removing the factory spare tire carrier. Taking the carrier off leaves holes and dents in the gate - the plate covers them and finishes the job.

- Plate: .190" (4.8 mm) aluminum
- Finish: raw aluminum

The part is supplied raw - it can be painted body colour or bed-lined. Aluminum needs no corrosion protection.
Before painting: the manufacturer requires a test fit on the vehicle before any custom paint or powder coating. Painted parts cannot be returned.
Installation
Easy. The manufacturer quotes 30 minutes. Some drilling required.
A note on vehicle age
TJs and LJs are now twenty to nearly thirty years old. Expect seized bolts and corroded frame threads when removing factory parts - soak the joints in penetrant beforehand and use anti-seize on reassembly. Several reviews of TJ parts are really about this rather than about the part.
