A pickup fuel tank is large, flat and hangs under the frame with no factory cover at all. On rutted tracks it is the most exposed fluid container on the vehicle, and puncturing it ends the trip on the spot.

6.0 mm aluminium. Rival specifies 6.0 mm aluminium in a silver finish. Over a tank what matters most is panel stiffness across a large area, and 6.0 mm aluminium delivers that without the mass a steel plate of the same size would hang behind the rear axle.

Installation. The plate mounts to the factory chassis points and comes with a fitting kit.

Fitment. Mitsubishi L200 2006-2014, 2013-2015, 2015-2019 and 2018-2023 with the 2.5 l and 2.4 l diesel engines. Rival's technical description narrows this to Club Cab and Double Cab 4WD bodies and covers the Triton badged equivalent.

If you run a full tank over gravel and rock, this is one of those plates you only miss once — and that once is expensive.
