Six millimetres of aluminium under the tank is not a compromise, it is a decision — you take the thickest plate Rival builds for the Navara because you know where the truck is going. On the D23 the fuel tank hangs behind the rear axle and takes the first hit whenever you drop off a sharp edge.

6.0 mm aluminium. Rival lists 6.0 mm thickness, silver finish. It is the same plate as the 4 mm version, half again as thick — and that gap shows up under point impacts, where thinner material deforms locally while thicker material spreads the load. Even at this gauge aluminium still weighs less than the steel equivalent.

Installation. The fitting kit is included and the plate uses the points prepared for it. A lift job, with nothing done to the chassis itself.

Fitment. Nissan Navara (Frontier) 2014-2019 with the 2.3 l diesel. Rival's technical note specifies the AdBlue version and Spanish assembly — worth confirming before you order, since this generation was built on two lines.

Take this variant if the truck runs loaded, goes on expeditions or sees rock. For gravel roads and moderate trails the 4 mm plate is enough.
