Rival 6.0 mm aluminium gearbox and transfer case skid plate for the Toyota Land Cruiser 78 with the 4.2 l diesel (2007-2023). One panel over both units, fitting kit included.
On the 78-series Land Cruiser the gearbox and transfer case sit low and right in the path of everything the tyres throw up on gravel and rock steps. A cracked transfer case housing is not cosmetic damage — it is oil on the trail and the end of the trip wherever you happen to be standing.
6.0 mm aluminium. Rival makes this plate from 6.0 mm aluminium sheet, finished in silver. Aluminium at this gauge is markedly lighter than a steel plate of comparable stiffness — worth having on a truck that already carries weight.
Installation. A fitting kit is supplied. If you would rather collect the vehicle ready to drive, we fit plates like this in our own workshop.
Fitment. Toyota Land Cruiser 78 with the 4.2 l diesel engine, model years 2007-2023.
The advantage of this version is that a single panel covers both units. With two separate plates you are left with a gap between them, and that gap is exactly where a rock finds its way in when you slide off a ledge.
