The 100-series gearbox has the chassis above it and nothing but its own casing below. That casing is a thin casting: one solid hit and you have a leak that is hard to fix out on the trail.

6.0 mm aluminium. Rival specifies 6.0 mm aluminium in silver. At that gauge the plate spreads impact energy across a wider area instead of passing it straight to the gearbox housing.

Installation. A model-specific fitting kit is included.

Fitment. Toyota Land Cruiser 100. The catalogue name covers 1998-2002, 2002-2005 and 2005-2007 with the 4.7 l petrol and 4.2 l diesel, while Rival's technical description limits the fit to the 4.2 D from 2002-2007. Check your version with us before ordering.
