The Amarok's front arms sit exposed at the sides of the chassis and take hits exactly where a wheel climbs a rock and the body moves over it. A bent arm means altered geometry and a truck that pulls to one side — a failure far easier to prevent than to fix in the field.

4.0 mm aluminium. Rival specifies pressed aluminium, 4.0 mm thick, silver finish. The plate covers the front arm area, filling the gap that the centre skid plates do not reach.

Installation. Factory mounting points are used and a fitting kit is supplied.

Fitment. Volkswagen Amarok 2010-2016 and 2016-2020 with the 2.0 TDI and 3.0 TDI engines listed by Rival.

This is usually the part owners add last — after the engine and gearbox plates — once it becomes clear the truck is collecting impacts wider than just along its centreline.
