Underneath, the Land Cruiser 300 looks civilised — plenty of plastic trays, very little metal. Those trays are there for aerodynamics, not protection, and they come apart on first contact with a rock. What is left below is the bare gearbox housing.

6.0 mm pressed aluminium. Rival makes this plate from 6.0 mm pressed aluminium sheet in silver. Pressing gives the panel a shape that holds under load; a flat plate of the same gauge would deflect noticeably more easily.

Installation. A fitting kit is supplied. Important: Rival states that this plate is fitted together with part number 2333.9559.1.6 — plan on buying both parts at once, and we will confirm what that second part covers before you order.

Fitment. Toyota Land Cruiser 300 from 2021, 3.5 l and 4.0 l petrol versions per the manufacturer's data.

On a vehicle of this weight the point is not surviving one big hit — it is making sure that hundreds of small contacts on a forest track never turn into a workshop invoice.
