The 79-series Land Cruiser is built to work, not to sit still. The catch is that the gearbox casing has nothing underneath it from the factory, and in rocks and deep ruts that is exactly where the hits you cannot see from the driver's seat land.

6.0 mm aluminium. Rival specifies 6.0 mm pressed aluminium sheet in silver. The pressing adds stiffness without adding gauge, and aluminium keeps you from stacking another dozen kilograms onto a vehicle that already carries plenty.

Installation. The plate uses the factory mounting points and a fitting kit is included. No drilling, no welding.

Fitment. Toyota Land Cruiser 79 from 2023 — Rival's technical description covers the Double Cab 4.5 with manual gearbox and 4WD, and the Single Cab 4.5 D with manual or automatic gearbox and 4WD.

If you are building up protection in stages, this plate closes the mid-section together with the transfer case plate — and those two are usually bought as a pair.
