Buying skid plates one at a time usually ends the same way: the engine is protected and the first serious rock finds the transfer case you had not got round to ordering. This set settles the question in one go.

Three plates in the box. Rival supplies a full kit of three plates — engine, gearbox and transfer case — all in 6.0 mm pressed aluminium, finished in silver.

Why the kit makes sense. Plates from one series are designed to run into each other. Bought separately and over time, it is easier to end up with an exposed gap where two panels meet, and that gap is normally the weakest point of the whole installation.

Installation. A fitting kit is supplied and the plates use the factory mounting points. Three panels is a few hours on a lift.

Fitment. Toyota Land Cruiser 100. Rival's technical description specifies the 4.2 l diesel with automatic gearbox only, model years 2002-2007, while the catalogue name quotes a wider year range and a 4.7 l petrol engine. Confirm your exact version with us before ordering.
