An Amarok with the V6 travels further and faster than its weight suggests — and the faster it goes, the harder the underbody lands on rough ground. This Rival set closes off the facelift truck's floor with three pressed aluminium panels.

What the set covers. Rival lists three components:

• radiator and engine plate,
• gearbox and transfer case plate,
• fuel tank plate.

Material. Aluminium, silver finish; Rival's specification table gives a thickness of 3.8 mm. Aluminium's main advantage over steel here is weight — a full set of plates adds mass at the lowest point of the vehicle, so every kilogram saved shows up in how the truck handles.

Installation. Factory mounting points, fitting kit supplied.

Fitment. Volkswagen Amarok 2016-2020 with the 3.0 V6 diesel.

Rival also lists a 6 mm version of the same set under a separate part number if you need the heavier-duty option.
